Software Controls Team Leader

Location: Co. Clare, Ireland.

According to IDA Ireland, “Ireland has a proven track record as a successful location for world leading established and high growth multinational companies from around the world. One third of multinationals in Ireland have had operations in the country for over 20 years, illustrating the longevity, resilience and commitment of these companies to Ireland” and I’d like to see anyone contest this statement.

With that in mind and the country being such a hotbed of activity, a client of ours who specialise in automation systems are seeking a technical team leader to join their software controls function. This company have seen some very strong years of growth and despite the challenges the past year have presented us, they continue to strive towards their aggressive growth in headcount. They have the customers, they have the facilities, they now need the people who are going to buy in to their vision and help scale it.

As a Software Controls Team Leader, you will be expected to lead a team of software engineers through all phases of software development from requirements through to deployment and post deployment support in the areas of automation machinery and manufacturing process control.

Ideally, you will be working within a machinery-based company where you develop software/control systems for machinery automation. This could be within any sector as long as parallels can be drawn.

About you:
* Ideally educated to degree level in a software engineering discipline.
* A proven background in leading people and projects.
* Strong knowledge of Project/Program Management, software development methodologies (SDLC), including Agile.
* Experience in programming PLCs (Rockwell Allen Bradley platforms preferred), including hardware layout and configuration is an advantage.
* Full Clean Driver’s License is required.
* Programming experience in Robotics, Cobotics, Vision & Scada systems could be advantageous.
* Exposure to setting up Data Historians with Web Front End, VB, HTML, or .NET programming.
* Industry 4.0 systems design and or deployment.

* Some travel expected (<10%), within Ireland.
* 2-3 stage interview process.
* Start date: ASAP (Urgent requirement).
