Senior / Project Managers

Location: Portland, Oregon

Direct Hire

A long-standing machinery automation partner of ours is going through a sustained period of growth with various end-customer projects signed-off over the next 2 years.

The machinery automation market is booming. Yes, maybe not everywhere and maybe not for all industries but this is not the case for our customer – a business who have positioned themselves as experts in their own right and is constantly delivering on high value projects, leading to them submitting customer bids at a rate of knots.

For that reason, they are now seeking project managers at all levels to join them on a direct hire basis.
This would be a perfect opportunity for project managers with a technical background of delivering machinery automation projects either internally or for external customers, seeing projects through from early scope phases, through to on-site installation, commissioning and sign-off.

What sets this opportunity apart from others? Well, the beauty of custom automation is that isn’t always clearly defined by the customer, so you have to use your skills and experience to navigate these conversations, steering and managing change requests with skill. You’ll also be working with some of THE most creative and inventive engineers who have not been beaten yet. Customer has a problem – they come up with the solution. Every. Single. Time.

To be considered for this opening, what do I need from you?

* Bragging rights to delivering multi-million-dollar capital equipment/custom automation projects, start to finish.
* Being able to handle 2-3 of these at any one point, utilising the skills of up to 30 engineers at any one point.
* In terms of paperwork – an engineering degree would be beneficial; a project management certificate would be even more attractive.
* You aren’t a stranger to pneumatics, robotics, vision systems, measurement devices and the like.
* Ideal industry backgrounds would be semi-conductor, medical device manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical. Others will also be welcome.

Other stuff:

* Attractive salaries and benefits packages on offer.
* Relocation allowance available for you to move closer to the Portland location.
* 2 stage interview process – with the aim of concluding the process within 1-2 weeks of submission.
