Senior Mechanical Engineer – Onsite / Offshore Liaison
Location: Portland Metropolitan Area, Oregon.
Direct Hire.
The Portland area in Oregon is a hub of activity, industry and innovation – something that is a big attraction to career-driven professionals who also enjoy the benefits of the Oregonian terrain, outdoor lifestyle and work/life balance.
Off the back of continued business success throughout the pandemic, our customer is seeking to hire a number of mechanical engineers to join the company on a direct hire basis. This would be at both engineer and senior engineer level performing full lifecycle mechanical engineering support across of their engineering projects. This would include: concept work, 2D/3D design and modelling, FEA/engineering calculations, BOM, build support, installation/assembly drawings, mechanical debug and acceptance.
But ‘what will I be doing as an onsite/offshore liaison’ I hear you ask? Well, it will all be within machinery automation, not so much the big and clunky stuff with hydraulics, in fact none of that at all. Our client currently engage the services of an offshore engineering company in India who provide full-lifecycle support. You will be the bridge between the onsite/offshore team and your position will be 50% technical engineering and 50% offshore team management.
About you:

* Ideally degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
* A proven background as a mechanical engineer, design engineer, project engineer, systems engineer or similar within a machinery automation environment.
* Full lifecycle mechanical engineering – cradle to grave.
* Flexible on design software – whether that be SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Inventor.
* Pneumatics would be the flavour of choice, exposure to robotics, PLC/HMI- controlled systems, vision systems etc would also benefit your application.
* Previous experience of managing/supervising/coordinating an offshore team would be extremely desirable.

Other:

* Willingness to relocate to Portland, Oregon.
* Quick process, remote Teams calls for those who aren’t currently based in Oregon.
* Potential for relocation support.
* Multiple positions available across other disciplines.
