Senior / Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Direct Hire.
$80-120k (Depending on experience) + Benefits.

With the world returning to normal we are experiencing a huge increase in the amount of requisitions from our customers for engineering resource.
Our customer, a global business within the automation sector is seeking an electrical design engineer to join their business. Even though their main focus is automotive, they are a small team of industry specialists who design automation systems from scratch for the South Carolina client base within the automotive, logistics and warehouse automation sectors.
Now this isn’t a position where you will be opening up the library and looking for a template, piecing together parts of a puzzle and calling it a design. This is a job where you will utilize your electrical engineering knowledge of principles and fundamentals to design a system from scratch. You will know the difference between your wire sizes, resistances, voltages. Knowing how to design panels around PLC-based architectures, where to place a connector or a power supply, and being able to challenge designs, architect designs or modify designs based on your knowledge and experience.
As a senior, you will be expected to take the lead on projects and adopt that role I mention above of using your skills and knowledge to support on customer issues, sales and quotations. Juniors will be considered too, and to bolster your knowledge in this area there would be an expectation (for juniors only) to travel up to 25% to gain exposure to the installation and commissioning phases.
What do you need to be considered?

* Ideally a degree education in electrical engineering.
* Prior experience and exposure to control systems design for PLC-based architectures within ideally an automotive or logistics/warehouse automation environment.
* Systems design from scratch is the core of this position, and having a solid knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
* Being able to confidently create single-line, three-line and red-line diagrams, load calculations, whilst having an understanding or working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, IEC or EN standards.
* Flexible on CAD package – whether it is EPlan, AutoCAD Electrical or another – it doesn’t particularly matter as long as you can tick the other boxes.

* 2-3 stage interview process.
* Relocation support for the very best candidates.
* Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Vacation + PTO + Sick days.
