Software Engineer- Dorchester- Permanent – £35,000-£45,000

Our Customer based in Dorchester is actively hiring experienced PLC Programmers with strong working knowledge of PLC Programming and previous Robot Programming experience. As a leading International turnkey solutions provider they are looking for proactive and flexible engineers with a solid level of experience to support, installation and commissioning project based activities

As a PLC Programmer you will be responsible for providing PLC and HMI software development, commissioning and support activities to a leading manufacturing sites. Predominately using Robots, Machine Vision and Motion Control you will work in a cross functional team developing and debugging equipment to achieve uptime and machine cycle times.

Essential skills and experience
A science, engineering or math-based Degree
An excellent track record of being able to develop machine oriented programs using Microsoft Visual C# and C++
Thorough understanding of UML and the software life cycle
In depth knowledge of the intricacies of system integration
Desirable skills and experience
Experience of Robots, Machine Vision and Motion Control would also be an advantage, in particular Kuka, ABB, Cognex and Beckhoff
Experience of programming PLCs using one of the IEC61131-3 languages would be beneficial

To be considered for the role of PLC Programmer you will require a minimum of 6 years working experience of development and commissioning of PLC and HMI Software and a relevant degree equivalent to a US Bachelors. Previous experience of working such projects with is highly beneficial.

The role of PLC Programmer offers a competitive hourly rate, negotiable depending on previous relevant experience. Visa Sponsorship for this position is not available.
