Project Manager – Warehouse Automation

Location: Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Whilst the past year has caused a lot of issues for many companies around the world, it has also presented a lot of opportunity within the world of e-commerce, distribution/fulfillment centres and warehouse automation.
Our customer are incredibly well-established within the market and off the back of this continued success they are looking to add project managers to the team over the course of the next 12 months. This is not a spike in growth by any means, but continued and sustained growth that has built over the past 5-6 years through good leadership and highly effective project delivery.

The project manager plays such a vital part in the success of their projects, from supporting during the early sales process through to on-site commissioning and customer acceptance – without them they wouldn’t be delivering projects in the €10-15 million range. The project manager is pivotal to understanding customer requirements and generating the functional design specifications around what is needed and how they will deliver this. Does this sound like you?

What do you need in order to be successful in this role?

1 You will have ideally progressed your career from a controls engineer, PLC programmer / SPS programmierer in to a project engineer, lead engineer, project leader or project manager working on warehouse automation projects.
2 Due to the nature of the position and the customers that you will work with, a high degree of German speaking/writing/reading is required – the design specifications are typically written in German.
3 You will be a confident and clear communicator, it’s in the DNA of a project manager that being able to navigate challenging customer situations is a necessity.
4 A willingness to travel circa 30% of the time, this could be anywhere in mainland Europe and typically more so at the commissioning/acceptance stages.

Other things to consider:

1 This position is open to candidates outside of Germany as long as you have all of the above experience.
2 2-3 stage interview process, first stage over Teams, second on-site in Germany, third via Teams.
3 Relocation support will be provided.
4 Company car will be provided on top of compensation package.
