ESTIMATOR – PERMANENT – MICHIGAN, USA

We’re seeking Estimators who are focused on world class technology, who have the expertise to define and establish all estimating information relative to industrial automation content, timing, quality, technology, and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

* Prepare industrial automation proposals based on format provided for customer submission
* Work with advanced processing group to prepare cycle time analysis, conceptual drawings, sequence of operations, and technical descriptions of machine stations and major system components
* Prepare complete mechanical and control costing in format which correlates to our clients’ Engineering and Manufacturing Process, drawing and review cost data from SAP and SMS
* Assist in developing new products, existing product improvements, and standards in proposal and costing
* To communicate within a “team based” work environment and interact well with fellow employees and external customers
* Attend customer line-up meetings and provide technical assistance to sales team and other internal departments directly responsible for engineering and manufacturing of projects
* Develop and train other personnel in becoming familiar with the mechanics and proposal estimating procedure for systems assigned
* Prepare, conduct and/or assist in technical presentations to customers when required
* Prepare WBS, PCN changes, assist project management with scheduling, job progress and customer requirements
* Attend job kick off meetings and support Engineering and Project Management on Job orders received
* Complete processing and negotiating of all engineering changes, inclusive or co-ordination between project managers and other estimating personnel as may be deemed necessary
* Maintain tracking system for all changes on approved format using clarifications logs

Qualifications and Skills

* Degree in Mechanical Technology, diploma in Technical study or bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
* Five (5) + years’ experience in processing, cost estimating and formulation of written proposals for industrial automation and related systems
* Excellent written and oral communications with the ability to successfully manage the customer relations function as it relates to the proposal process
* Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet applications
* Ability to work with others in a team atmosphere
