Controls Engineer – Contract – Oakland County, MI – 6-12 Months

We are actively recruiting Controls Engineers with an automotive background for our client’s projects starting in January 2023. This client, an international leader in world-class automation equipment is looking to hire 5-10 Controls Engineers with GM, Ford or Rivian experience to support their projects throughout next year.

As a Controls Engineer you will have the opportunity to design, implement and document controls systems for automated equipment within the automotive industry. You will ensure equipment is designed and programmed to GM, Ford or Rivian standards.

Responsibilities of a Controls Engineer include but not limited to;
> Designing and developing PLC & HMI Software for new control systems
> Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports
> Programming using customer standards.
> Working collaboratively with electrical engineers, process engineers and other staff
> Liaising with customers, suppliers and contractors

To be considered for this contract opportunity as a Controls Engineer you will a minimum 2 years’ experience of PLC Programming with standards used by Ford, General Motors or Rivian. Ideally you will have experience with CAD and the ability to understand electrical/pneumatic drawings. A Batchelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is preferred however candidates without and considerable experience will be considered.

This is a 6-12 month contract opportunity as a Controls Engineer offering a competitive rate per hour, overtime multipliers and per diem whilst working in the field. You will need to be US Citizen or hold a valid visa to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship is offered in this position.
