KUKA Systems North America and Talos Automation have been working together for over 2 years.
Our initial conversations grew out of KUKA Systems North America’s global need for qualified robot programmers and PLC Programmers / Application Engineers abroad as we took on several jobs simultaneously outside of the United States.
We had projects in China, Thailand, Brazil and Mexico and two of those locations were places where we were doing a first-time integration.
We found, as we were working to identify local talent, the fact that we had specifications that were new to the areas made it difficult to find qualified personnel. Experience was not part of the discussion due to first time needs in those countries.
While we were working on placing our people from North America and Mexico in these new locations, we saw quickly that we were depleting our resources to the point where we would have had problems supporting other jobs both stateside and around the world.
Talos Automation and KUKA worked through discussions to explain the needs, understanding the specifications, and working through the logistics of getting qualified personnel on site.
People from Talos Automation started to show up on site in Brazil, Mexico, and North Carolina and very quickly we saw that the calibre of people was above the norm.
We added more contingent personnel and Talos Automation helped us make the projects a success.
Since these initial meetings, Talos Automation started discussions with KUKA in Germany and has become a supplier for the needs in Europe, Asia, and India.
We will continue to work with Talos Automation to utilize their expertise and personnel as we work to produce and supply quality and cost-effective automation solutions.
